The only rule we have for the glove arm is that it needs to move fast. We also never see an elite pitcher whose glove elbow goes higher than their glove shoulder at any point in the pitch.

This is a great drill for beginners

Stop trying to force the release! This is something that happens so fast. If you overthink it, you can really mess yourself up. My biggest tips for follow through are:

  1. Swing the elbow to the target. Our elbows are the key to accuracy.

  2. For younger kids, think make a fist (palm down) at the target after release.

  3. Move the xiphoid where you want the ball to go
